A stormy evening with most boats safe in harbour, but for a big ship on the horizon with black sails. The ships on the outside of the bowl are sailing on a moonlit sea. Vigorous and expressionistic painting characterise this delicious large vessel. 
 
Deep and generous both in size and design, this bowl is richly detailed. The colours are mixed by hand and painted onto the red earthenware clay in layers, allowing the warmth of the clay to glow through.
